Shanan Floto, M.H.Sc.,

Owner-operator
Shanan received her Master’s of Health Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto. She has clinical experience assessing and providing speech therapy to children who have difficulties with: articulation, motor speech, phonology, receptive and expressive language, reading and writing, and social communication.
Shanan has worked with toddlers, children, and teens diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, Down syndrome and other genetic syndromes, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and Cleft Lip/Palate.
She appreciates the unique abilities of the individuals she is so privileged to work with and shares their joy as they progress each day toward their speech, language, and literacy goals.
In her spare time Shanan loves hiking, travelling, yoga, and relaxing with a cup of tea and a good book. Fun fact, Shanan is also a certified yoga instructor!
Shanan has additional training in many areas of speech therapy. In particular she has a strong interest in helping children with speech sound disorders such as articulation difficulties and Childhood Apraxia of Speech as well as literacy (reading and writing disorders such as Dyslexia).

ABOUT YAKKY DUCK SPEECH AND LANGUAGE SERVICES
Shanan founded Yakky Duck speech during the COVID-19 pandemic after recognizing the extraordinary benefits virtual therapy was having for clients in regions who previously were unable to access speech therapy services. Many of our clients live in the Ottawa Valley and Wellington county as well as other small towns across the province. Yakky Duck Speech is proud to service clients from all over Ontario!
